The Rose
I've decided that I'm addicted to blogs. I start reading and I just can't stop. Maybe it's just because I like to see what's going on in everyone's life and leaving comments for ya'll. I've lost a lot of sleep because of blogging. Oh well. It's worth it.
Sunday we had a party for the new Melodears. I was there for a while but then I had to leave for TREE drama practice at 4. But my "little sister" didn't get there until 4:30, so I went back at 5 for the gift giving, cake, and singing of our theme song (which by the way is "The Rose" which is what the Happy Hands Club does in Napoleon Dynamite, but we had it first, we go back like 8 years), and then left again to go back to church. The party was really fun, I think that the new group is going to be really good. Too bad I won't be there.
We did the last installment in the ACTS drama on Sunday. It went surprisingly well except for us forgetting to do the scene change at the right time and Aaron accidentally calling me Rhoda instead of Susana. Oh well, it was still good. Thanks to everyone who helped and put so much effort into the whole thing. I think it paid off.
Sunday night I spent the night with Kelley so we could make T-shirts for our Melodear little sisters. Then we got up really early Monday morning and kidnapped our sisters, dressed them up all cute and then we all met at Bruegger's Bagels for breakfast. Then we took them to school and we sang them our theme song as we stood around the lion statue in the lobby holding hands in a circle. So many traditions. It's awesome to be a part of something so special. Once a Melo, always a Melo. It's kinda like a sorority. It's so much fun and even though we've had a lot of drama this year, I'm glad I was able to be a part of it.
So that was Sunday and Monday. I'll have to tell you about bible study tomorrow because it's late and I've spent way too much time on this already.
"The Rose"
Some say love it is a river
That drowns the tender reed
Some say love it is a razor
That leaves your soul to bleed
Some say love it is a hunger
An endless aching need
I say love it is a flower
And you its only seed
It's the heart afraid of breaking
That never learns to dance
It's the dream afraid of waking
That never takes the chance
It's the one who won't be taken
Who cannot seem to give
And the soul afraid of dying
That never learns to live
When the night has been too lonely
And the road has been too long
And you think that love is only
For the lucky and the strong
Just remember in the winter
Far beneath the bitter snows
Lies the seed that with the sun's love
In the spring becomes the rose
