Friday we got our papers back in my English class. I don't know how many of you I explained this to, but I only had a weekend to do my whole paper that we had months of exercises and prep work for because my teacher decided that he didn't think that my topic was adult enough for our class and he didn't tell me until the Friday before the Monday the final draft was due. So basically, I had done months of work on this one story, and I had to completely scrap it and write a different story in three days and get no feedback on it, just turn it in and hope for the best. Needless to say, I was pretty stressed about it, and a bunch of other things happened to complicate it even more, but what it all comes down to is that I got a C on the first draft of my original story, so I was hoping for at least a B on my new story. Well, we got them back and I got an A. I was like freaking out because I really thought I would get a C but I was hoping for a B, but instead I got a 23 out of 25. So that basically made my Friday.
So, I've had a great weekend and past few days. Canopy Oaks is on Spring Break, so I didn't have to work on Friday or all this week. Saturday we went to the beach and had a great time. The St. Patrick's Day party at youth went well and I think everyone had a good time. Today Calyn and I went bowling with two of the girls from our Bible study. It was good to just hang out and get to know them more, and bowling's fun. I'm getting my hair cut tomorrow and some friends from Boynton are coming in on Wednesday and staying until Sat or Sun. Thursday we are going to Wakulla Springs. Whoever wants to come is welcome. We are all kind of going at different times, so if you want to come, just meet there whenever you can and leave when you need to. Five days until my 19th birthday. Yay, I guess. :-) Okay, well, this is probably boring you all, but just a little update on what's going on with me.
Here are some pictures from the beach:
We buried Kevin in the sand. It took a long time to dig the hole and we had just started filling it in and I was like, "The sand's too dry. We need some water." So Kenley pours freezing cold water from the cooler full of ice onto Kevin and Kevin jumps up in a split second and starts running around and screaming. Calyn and I were a little upset that all of our hard work went to waste...
So we put Kenley outside the circle of trust. Me: "This is the circle of trust." Calyn: "This is Kenley."
We had fun taking pictures of ourselves in Diane's sunglasses.
