Hey Guys...

Take my new poll!

A Blast From The Past

Today I feel: Reminiscent

Sorry I didn't write Friday, but I just ran out of time. We were watching old family home videos until like midnight and I was really tired. More about that later.
Friday was a really great day. Not only was it Friday, and I could taste the weekend, but it was also a really slack day in school. The only class I actually worked in was Anatomy, and we had a lab practical. But, I actually think that I did really well on it, so that was good. In Melodears we had cupcakes to celebrate Dew's birthday. No, that's not her first name. We have three Eizabeths and three Laurens in Melos, so they all go by their last name or a nickname. So, we celebrated Elizabeth Dew's birthday. We ate the cupcakes and sang "Happy Birthday," and then we played this awesome game called "Encore." Basically, you split into teams and you have a word and you have to think of a song with that word in it and sing it. You go back and forth until one team can't think of a song. It's really fun and surprisingly harder than it sounds.
Friday night we watched "Princess Diaries 2" and then we broke out the home videos. It's so much fun remembering all of the hilarious times we've had. I think one of the funniest ones is when I'm 5 and Brandon is 1 and I am singing and dancing and jumping rope and Brandon is mimicking everything I do. It's so funny. All you peeps really need to see it. I think I am going to show some clips at my 18th birthday party (which, by the way, is in exactly one month from yesterday. Well, my birthday is anyway. My birthday party will be somewhere very near it.)
Today I slept in until 1:00. It was wonderful, because I've had something to do every Saturday for the past like two months or so. So then I cleaned and went to the grocery store to buy the food for our dinner tonight. Me and the boys made Mom and Dad dinner (and it was really good if I do say so myself.) We started with a salad and then had this really good shrimp and pasta dish with broccoli and cheese sauce and key lime pie for dessert. It was fun for us to work together and make it and, of course, very good to eat! Then, we watched some more home movies. A classic moment: Brandon's first birthday. His very own cake. He scarfed it. Yet, his clothes were still clean. Amazing.
Alrighty, that's the latest update from the Myrick household. Adios!

How To Build a House

Today I feel: Useful (okay, this one's a stretch, but I really run out of adjectives, and I like to make them relate...just go with it...)

Well, Me, Calyn, Diane, and Brandon did some work on the set for our upcoming drama series tonight. We couldn't really leave anything up because it would get in the way of the Awana people's Bible quizzing on Saturday. We were trying to build a house structure out of PVC pipe (what does the "PVC" stand for anyway?) and fabric, but we ran into a slight problem: the connectors were too small for some of the pipes. Now, this was not a miscalculation on our part at all. When the connector says 1/2 inch, you would think that a 1/2 inch pipe would fit into it, now wouldn't you. But no, the pipe only fit into it if it had screw threads on the end. So, we had to improvise. Brandon and Diane both thought of doing it the same way, so they both get credit here. Their way worked with only eight pipes per house instead of twelve and we were able to use only the 1 inch pipes that fit. Regardless, I feel that we got a lot accomplished as far as planning and preliminary work goes. And I must say that we had a pretty productive night, especially since when Calyn and I are involved and are both in funny moods we can tend to be just ever so slightly unproductive. I am so excited about this series that I can hardly wait for it to start!

"Get ready for a hug."

Today I feel: Blessed from the Indian Children's Choir

Oh my gosh! The Indian Children's Choir sang at my church tonight and they were so awesome. They sing with such a boldness and they sound great while doing it. I wish that our children's choir could be that confidently loud and have that much energy and still be able to harmonize better than any other children's choir I've ever heard. Not to mention that they are so cute. My favorite part of the program was when the kids came out into the audience to give everyone a hug. And I mean everyone, not just the people on the ends of the rows, everyone. The narrator lady just said, "Get ready for a hug," and then they poured out into the audience. It definitely made my day to get a hug from one of the little Indian boys.
Well, I must be off to bed. I've still got the bros in my room.

Shhhhh!

Today I feel: Tired

Gosh, why am I so tired after a three day weekend. I guess it was just more of an excuse for me to stay up late and stuff.
Anyways, I don't really have time to write, because we have chaperones from the Indian Children's Choir staying at my house, and that means that Brandon and Chris are sleeping in my room, so I was supposed to go to bed about, oh, 43 minutes ago, no seriously. I don't really have much to talk about anyway. PCBS was great, as always, and that was the highlight of my day.
So, goodnight to all.

Good Times, Great Oldies, U92...Tampa Bay!

I would like to dedicate my title to my good friend Sarah Wirgau...love ya babe!

Today I feel: sad that I have to go back to school tomorrow.

What a great weekend. I love when we have three-day weekends. On Sunday night after youth we played ultimate frisbee with Paul's awesome light-up frisbee. My team won! Only by one point, but we still won. Aaron ran into a fire hydrant while trying to catch a frisbee and got a nice little dent in his leg. This was not very good because he had a track meet today, but apparantly he came in sixth place. Way to go Aaron!
After we were done playing frisbee we were standing around talking and Jake found Amanda's jacket sitting on a cone in the parking lot. He decided to put it on, which is funny in itself, because Jake is, well, not a small person, and Amanda is a very small person. So, when he put the jacket on, he couldn't even put his arms down by his side. It was soooo funny. Probably the funniest thing I've seen all week. Then, to add to the humor of the situation, Brandon, Callie, and Amanda, who were looking for Jake, who was supposed to be hiding for their game of sardines, came up and saw him. Jake, not wanting to be caught, took off running with his arms still stuck straight out and Brandon and Callie tried to catch him for the game. However, Amanda was running after him to get her jacket back. Anyways, it was so so so funny, I can't even explain it. You kinda had to be there, but it was hilarious.
Afterwards, Janelle spent the night, and Brandon, Janelle, and I watched The Village (a great movie if you haven't seen it.) Then today, Janelle and I slept in and after we woke up we went to the mall to window shop. Well, Janelle bought a really cute shirt, but I didn't have any money, so I just tried stuff on for the fun of it.
Tomorrow, it's back to the everyday boring school routine, although we do have two people from the Indian choir that is coming to sing at our church coming to stay with us, so that should be really cool.

Weekends Are Great

Today I feel: Great!

I love the weekends. All that gets me through my week at scholl is knowing that the weekend is coming. Sorry I haven't written since Thursday, but I've been pretty busy.
Friday night Janelle, Tamara, Nicole, Lori, Callie, and I made skirts out of bandanas to wear to the Cowboy Up yesterday. They came out really cute (pictures hopefully coming soon.) We were at Tamara's Granny's house from like 6 until after midnight though. It took a long time, but it was worth it. I learned how to sew too, well I guess I re-learned, because I used to sew baby doll clothes, but I haven't done that since I was like eight or something.
On Saturday was Cowboy Up. I didn't get to square dance because I was late, so that was a major bummer, but I did have tons of fun. I had some really good chili and went on a hayride, which turned out to be quite a work out for Ian...long story. Then I went on some of the bouncy things and watched the cloggers. Janelle beat me on the gladiator fighting thingy. The stupid thing was so hard to stand on. Then we played frisbee for a while. We could have played longer, but Janelle, Tamara, and I left to go to a Valentine's banquet at Grace Church. That was really fun because I got to see my friends there who I don't see very often. And I got to dress up all nice and look pretty (again, pictures hopefully coming soon.)
Today is going to be fun, of course, with church and all. And tomorrow will be great because there is NO SCHOOL! Yea! We were going to go to Wakulla Springs, but it wasn't really working out, so I think Janelle is going to spend the night and we are going shopping or something fun like that. That was the last few days in a nutshell. Adios!

Here ya go!

Today I feel: accomplished

Tonight Calyn, Tamara, Nicole, Lori, Paul, and I went to the mall to hand out fliers for the Cowboy Up on Saturday. It was really fun and we handed out a lot of fliers. I hope that people come. It was cool because it's something that you don't get to do very often. I mean, sometimes, I felt kind of stupid but most people actually thanked us for giving them a flier.
We were talking about the best way to hand it to them and we decided that saying "Here you go" and then handing it to them is best. That way, they know that you don't want anything in return. And also, they can't really say no because you didn't ask them if they wanted it, you just gave it to them. Using our tried and true method, I only had two people reject me. But, I got to talk to a few people more in depth about it and several said that they would try to come.
I can't wait for Saturday, it's going to be so much fun. Tomorrow a bunch of us girls are making bandana skirts to wear on Saturday. That will be tons of fun. And on Saturday, Cowboy Up! I think that my favorite part is going to be the square dancing and the mechanical bull. I can hardly wait. I think my friend Kelley might be coming too.
Okay, well, I'm off to bed. Sleep tight and sweet dreams everyone!

Quizzes Galore!

Today I feel: like doing some online quizzes

Nothing all that exciting is going on, so I don't really have anything to write about. So, I did some online quizzes from quizilla.com and I thought that I'd share my results with you.

Which Napoleon Dynamite character am I?
Kip
You are Kip Dynamite and you love technology.
Take the quiz: Which Napoleon Dynamite character are you?
brought to you by www.quizilla.com
I am Kip, huh? That was surprising.

Which Disney attraction am I?
Roger Rabbit's Car Toon Spin
Roger Rabbit's Cartoon Spin: a wild ride through
the back alleys of toontown! The only ride
with a PG sense of humour in the G rated world
of Disneyland, you are zany, wild, and a little
bit of a loose screw. Energetic and colorful,
you go at full speed, even though your taxi-car
vehicles actually have four flat tires!
Despite your older humor, you are a kid at
heart and kids most relate to your cartoony
world and like you the best. You've been know
to make the adults a little queasy and a litte
bit dizzy. You leave your visitors dazed, a
little confused, but more often, extremely
amused. You take us to the places we'd never
see in a ride featuring the straight-laced
Mickey, but somehow you're still all Disney.
Take the quiz: What Disneyland attraction are you?
brought to you by www.quizilla.com
Never been on this ride.

Which Teen Titan am I?
Star
You are most like Starfire. A bit clumsy and
innocent, you're lucky you have friends or who
knows what would happen to you. You are
excessively happy which sometimes gets on
others' nerves. You tend to be too polite for
your own good sometimes which may be depicted
as snobbish. You are very nice and
compassionate but you aren't afraid to let
others know when you're mad, it is more of a
bodily sign mostly in the eyes. You love light
and try to cheer up that one gloomy person but
it is like night and day. You can't help it
though. You tend to be a charity case and try
to help others feel less gloomy and
inadvertently make it worse. You are drawn to a
certain person and you are a bit...well a tad
and a bit eccentric and odd. But don't worry
it's your quirks that people like about you!
Take the quiz: Which Teen Titans Character Are You?
brought to you by www.quizilla.com
This is a cute show and I like this character.

Which Spongebob character am I?
HASH(0x8afe964)
YES, REALLY, TRUELY, YOU ARE SPONGEBOB THE SPONGE!
Take the quiz: !!!WHAT SPONGEBOB CHARACTER ARE YOU!!!
brought to you by www.quizilla.com
Yeah! I'm Spongebob! Actually, I wanted to be Patrick...or Gary.

Valentine's Day

Today I feel: thankful that I have such great friends

Valentine's Day: it's not a good holiday for anyone. Those who don't have a significant other get all depressed and gloomy, and those with a significant other feel pressured to do something really special. Nobody wins.
However, this Valentine's Day, I was in neither of those categories. Not that I normally get all depressed on Valentine's Day or anything, but I just don't normally enjoy this holiday very much. But, this year I received more candy, flowers, just stuff, than I ever had (except for that one year in fifth grade...but that's a whole other story altogether...). I have such great friends. They all felt the need to get stuff for everyone this year. And, like four people brought stuff in for all the Melodears and it was just great.
Tonight, I went to the movies for a girls night out (which ended up not really working because Mr. Robbin, Jeremy, and Josh were there). We saw The Polar Express, which is a really sweet movie if you haven't seen it. It kinda made me wish it was Christmas though. Anyways, it was really fun and it was nice to get out of the house on a weeknight just to do something fun.
I went for a run today. (Calyn, you inspired me...and I also ate a bunch of junk today and I wanted to do something healthy.) Well, I say run, but I haven't done it in so long that it was more of a slow jog. But I never walked, and that is all that matters to me. Whenever I go for my little runs, I jog around the neighborhood (it's a mile long) and when I get to the stop sign at the beginning of the cul-de-sac, I sprint to the garage. It's really cool, because by the time you've jogged a mile, when you start to sprint, it feels like your legs aren't attached to your body. It's a really cool feeling. I was gonna take like a five minute break and then do it again, but my asthma kicked in and my stupid inhaler is messed up (might have something to do with the fact that it's been in the pack on the back of my bike since the bike trip this summer. Since I only need it when I'm doing strenuous exercise, like biking or running, it doesn't get too much use, but it would be nice if it would work when I need it). So I guess I'm going to try to do it a couple more times this week if I can.
Well, that's all for now. I hope everyone had a good V-day.

Brothers: Can't Live With 'Em, Can't Live Without 'Em

Today I feel: Happy

Well, it all started when Calyn and I were trying to finish writing a skit this afternoon. Our computer is in my little brother Chris's room, so Calyn and I went in to get started. Now, I'm not sure many other people in this world are as blessed as I am to have little brothers who like me and, for some reason, want to hang out with me and my friends. Both of my little brothers were in the room and were chatting our ears off and I finally had to ask them to leave because I knew we would never get anything accomplished. It's not that I don't like them, it's just that they are a distraction and we had like 45 minutes to do what we had to do.
First they wanted to see Calyn's blog and after we showed them, they wanted to stay and watch us write the skit. I told them to find something else to do, so they left and we started. We were typing up the skit and rolling along, everything was going great. Then it started. I really just can't figure out what's so intriguing about it all. What little brothers in their right minds actually care about this kind of stuff? Chris was juggling behind us and couldn't find anything else in the whole house to do. I told him to run along and play (again), so he left. Then, my dad was measuring Brandon in the hallway (Brandon is obsessed with his height and loves the idea that he's taller than me now). Brandon comes into the room like "Jenna, if you haven't grown since the last time we measured you, then I'm taller than you now. Come get measured!" Obviously, now is not the opportune time to find out how tall I am. I was getting frustrated, as time was quickly ticking away, but Calyn couldn't help but laugh. Countless other times, my brothers came in and interrupted us. Even as I am typing this, they have come in to ask me some random question or watch over my shoulder as I am typing.
I love my brothers, I really do. But sometimes, it's just a little too much love between us.
My day has been fun otherwise. I love going to youth on Sundays. We read through the new skits at drama and watched a video of our musical in choir. I'm not really sure what made it so fun tonight, but I just had a great time. This week is going to be really busy. I have something planned every night. I'm so excited though. Tons of fun!

Solo and Ensemble Festival Is OVER!

Today I feel: Relieved

Solo and ensemble festival is over! I feel so relieved. I was more worried about our classical pieces in the morning than our dance in the evening. Well, we had a really nice judge this morning and we did better then I expected. At the evening session, Ms. Hall told us that we earned a superior (the highest rating) and we were all incredibly excited.
The dance went really well. We did it the best we ever have. I'm pretty sure we got a superior on it too, but we won't find out until Monday. All of the groups from Leon did really well. After each dance all the judge could say was "that was really good." She only had one thing to improve on for each group, which is a good sign. She said that we were all well prepared (something that I didn't feel until our last practice about an hour before we performed). Anyways, all together, it went well and I'm just so relieved and glad that it's over. We just have to do our dance one more time for showcase (which we aren't graded on, it's just for fun: much less stress).
In between the morning and evening sessions, Kelley and Victoria and I went to the mall. Victoria could only stay for lunch because she had to go to dance class, but Kelley and I shopped around for a while and tried on prom dresses and fun stuff like that. I got a really cute new shirt at JC Penny and just had fun trying on other stuff.
I'm feeling a little better today, but my throat still hurts. Unfortunately, I didn't do all of my chores last night like I was supposed to, so I have to mop the floor tonight (Uggghhh). I'd better be going now and I don't have anything else to say anyways.

Fun For Everyone at Winterfest

Today I feel: Lazy

Today was again not all that exciting. We had Winterfest at school though. That was pretty fun. Winterfest is this carnival thing that we have once each year for the last half of the day. There is a battle of the bands and bouncy games and a pie-eating contest, that sort of thing. This year there was a rock wall (I made it all the way to the top), a bounce house (not a very good one. I kind of felt like I was wading through Jello the whole time), a velcro sticky wall (that was tons of fun except I was laughing so hard the whole time that I could hardly jump. First off, we looked like penguins in the velcro suits because you can't put your arms down, and then when Kelley and I were on it she got stuck and couldn't get off), a mechanical bull (I was only one for like ten seconds), and one of those bungee bouncy race things (the one like we got at Calyn's house that one time). So it was actually pretty fun because it wasn't as long as it normally is, so it gave me just enough time to do everything once and not enough time to get bored.
I have solo and ensemble festival tomorrow. You know what that means...dancing and singing with the Melodears. I can hardly wait...for it to be over.
Oh yeah, Brandon has a blog now. I assume he would want people visiting it. Enter into the
Point of No Return.
That's about all I got. I'm supposed to do my chores tonight but I really don't feel like doing anything but chilling. I am so lazy, but I really just don't feel good.

Boring Day

Today I feel: Sick (what's new?)

Well, today hasn't been that interesting. I felt horrible all day but I can't miss school because of all this stuff I have to do. The story of my life: I have to be there. My mom is really sick and I feel really bad for her. Chris was sick last weekend, so I can only hope that what I have does not turn into what they had.
Today in Capital Singers we had to do our Melodears dance in front of everyone. It was kind of weird because all of my friends in the audience were trying to make me laugh. We are actually doing much better. We went from like a three out of ten to like an eight and a half out of ten. Hopefully we can do well on Saturday.
Whenever I came home I got to take a nap for like three hours, so I am feeling a little better. But now, I must be off to do homework. And I'm going to help Brandon start his own blog. Adios!

Quesidillas and Sweden

Today I feel: Sick

I can't get sick. That's all there is to it. I have so much to do and so many places to be. That's probably why I'm sick, I'm just involved in so much. Take the Easter musical for example. I went to practice tonight and found out that there weren't enough woman speaking parts for me to have one. Although at first I was sort of disappointed, I have come to realize that it is probably a good thing. God is telling me that I don't have time to memorize more lines for another drama, and He's right. Plus, I still get to be in the crowd and stuff, that's always good.
I'm eating Sweettart hearts right now. I love these things they are the best ever! On that random note...
I love Aaron Bradberry. He is so funny. Tonight at church he was working on his Spanish homework and he asked me to help him with it. He has to make this menu with everything in Spanish. So, he was looking through his Spanish-English dictionary to find the words and I was helping him with random stuff like word order and stuff. I hadn't heard from him in a few minutes and he looked like he was looking diligently for some word. Finally, he turns to me and goes, "Are quesidilla and enchilada already Spanish?" Wow, me and Calyn started cracking up laughing. He had seriously looked through the English side of his dictionary for like three minutes for those words.
Then, later, he was talking about how having a girlfriend is expensive. I was telling him that it's expensive for the girl too because we have to buy guys stuff. Then he was like, "Yeah, but we gotta pay for the dates. Unless we go Sweden." I was laughing so hard but I managed to pull myself together to say, "Don't you mean Dutch?" and he was just like, "It's all the same over there." Needless to say, by this time I was in stitches and I could hardly tell Calyn why I was laughing so hard.
I guess it's been a good day, but now I have to go do the dishes, which, if I haven't already said by now, I hate doing. Adios and quesidilla!

I Missed Out :-(

Today I feel: Congested...kind of like my head is going to explode (stupid head cold!)

I had to go to the football banquet tonight...enough said.
Not that I don't enjoy the people involved, just that I really didn't feel like sitting in the civic center for two hours listening to the coaches give out awards. I get introduced at the beginning, right after we eat, then I'm done. I could have left. But I didn't. I guess I especially didn't want to go because I had to miss PCBS.
apparently we had quite a breakthrough tonight. Everyone really opened up and some really important and deep topics were discussed. But, I wasn't there. Figures. Oh well, they didn't have time to finish Stephen though, so I still get to watch the rest with them. And hopefully everyone will be able to open up a little more now. I really encourage everyone to get involved in or even start your own bible study. It has really helped me and I have definitely been enjoying it.
Lent starts tomorrow, and even though I'm not Catholic, everyone in PCBS decided to participate (Calyn called me and told me everything that happened). I've decided to give up any type of beverage but water. This should be pretty hard but that's why I want to do it. I like the idea of giving something up. I think it will help me depend on God more. Every time I think "I would really like a soda right now" or "I LOVE Chick-Fil-A lemonade, I want some" or whatever the case may be, I will pray and think about God.
Okay, this was the short and sweet version of today's events. I really don't feel well, so I'm going to bed now. Goodnight!

Mondayed!!!

Today I feel: (In the words of Strong Bad via Teen Girl Squad:) Mondayed!
By the way, if you've never seen Teen Girl Squad (or any of homestarrunner.com), you are really missing out. Check it out:
http://www.homestarrunner.com/tgsmenu.html I think my favorite ones are numbers 6 and 7.

Ugghh. Today was definitely a Monday. I am so tired. You would think that after having the whole weekend to rest up (yeah right) I would be fine, but I am so tired. School just went so slow and I could hardly stay awake in my classes. Not a good thing. Guys, sleep is your friend.
One good thing did happen today. My dad found out that he got the job at UCP (United Cerebral Palsy). I was so excited for him. Praise the Lord! This will definitely help us, him with a steady job that he gets paid on salary and not commission.
Kelley and I went shopping to find some clothes for the football banquet tomorrow (sorry PCBS people, I can't come tomorrow. Sad day, especially since we are finishing Stephen...). But neither of us found anything. I already have something that I can wear, but I just thought that it would be fun to find something new.
I'm glad the weather is warming up a bit. I always love when it first starts to get cold, but now that it has been cold for so long, I love when it gets to about 60 or 70 degrees outside and it's sunny. It's so pretty. Like at lunch today, after I got done eating I just laid in the grass and soaked up the sun until the bell rang (I hate that bell!)
Okay well, I must be off to actually get to sleep at a decent hour. Ciao.

Busy Can Be Good

Today I feel: exhausted but fulfilled

Man, I didn't have time to write yesterday. I was doing so good, too. Four days in a row. Oh well. I have had a great weekend, but it was also really busy.
Friday night I went to musical practice and had tons of fun. I accidently knocked an entire plate of chips on Brandon when I was climbing into the back of my truck. My knee hit his plate as I was pulling myself onto the tailgate and so his chips flew all over the place. It was really very funny but somehow Brandon didn't find the humor in it. Then, after practice, Callie came over and spent the night and me and her and Chris were playing Mario Party. I finally won this game that no one had ever beaten before and i was so excited that I screamed "Yes!!!" and threw my hands up. In doing so, Chris's head got in the way and I smacked him in the side of the face, so needless to say, my Friday night was full of mishaps involving my brothers.
In the morning, we got up at like 7:30 and had to go back to musical practice. Then, right after that I had to drive to Killearn to babysit for five hours, but i made some money, so that's always good. There's normally a boy who's 4 or 5 I think and a girl who just turned 1 a week ago, but the boy was with his aunt so I just had to watch Lindsey. She is so cute but she was really fussy and I could never really figure out what was wrong. Then, I left straight from there and went to Callie's house for a fish fry, which was really good. We ate and talked and then spent like two hours on the trampoline. I love trampolines, I wish I had one, but something tells me that it wouldn't be as much fun without Callie and Rhian there. We always have so much fun just messing around and Rhian tries to teach me how to do flips and stuff (tries being the key word) and we see who can do the most good toe touches in a row and I normally win :-). I hate how I can do a perfect toe touch on the tramp but I stink at it when I'm on the ground. But anyway, I rambling now.
This mornig at church I was supposed to be in three places at once, which is a very difficult thing to do, let me tell you. So, I did my skit for Sunday school, ran to the Joy Dome to sing with the youth choir, and then ran back to do nursery duty. It turned out that they didn't need me in the nursery so I went to Sunday school instead. Then I ate free Sonny's and me and Calyn tried to work on drama stuff but there wasn't much we could do so we watched Napolean Dynamite with everyone until it was time for the musical.
The musical went really well and everyone said I did good on my drama part which was encouraging because it was kind of a weird part. Daniel, Janelle, Tamara, and Kyle did awesome on their solos, and all in all it was good.
After the musical the Shaeffer and the Nowlin kids came over to hang out during the Superbowl. We ended up playing Mario Party almost the whole time, but I did see some of the game.
Okay, I'm done now. See? I told you I had a busy weekend, but it was tons of fun and I wish it were longer. Well, I'm going to go to bed now because I really need some rest. Good night ya'll!

I Heart Weekends!

Today I feel: Happy, happy, happy (did I mention that I'm happy?)

It's the weekend! Whoopyhoo! I love the weekend, it's so great. And, to top it all off, I don't have any homework over the weekend. That is always a good thing. Tonight is Associational Youth Musical Practice, as is tomorrow morning and then the musical is on Sunday. I can't believe that it is already Februrary and time for the musical. Time sure flies. I am really excited though because I like the songs in the musical this year and I have a drama part that is more than two words long (and yes, I mean literally two words. My only line last year was "Oh man!" and some seventh grader had the main part. I tried to be positive and remember that it was all for God, but I can't help but to be much happier about my paragraph part this year.) At any rate it should be fun and I get to see my friends, which is always good.
Okay, now to vent a little bit. In Melodears (singing group at school) we are doing this song with dancing for this thing called small ensemble festival in the special category. Okay, now I realize that I took dance for eight years, but this dance is really not that difficult and people are having a lot of trouble with it. Granted, some people were out because they were sick, but we've been working on it for a month now. There is this one girl, who shall remain nameless, who was dead center in the front and was having difficulty remembering the moves. So, she was always at least one beat behind because she had to look at other people to remember the moves. Because of this, she always looks so spastic because she is constantly trying to catch up. It's just kind of frustrating, because we have all been very patient with her and tried to help her and the others who aren't quite getting it. Ironically, I am on the back row but the people in my row know it the best as a group. At least Victoria and Scranton are on the front row too and they are both really good. And now, our choreographer, Millie, moved the spastic girl to the end of the front row and Victoria and Scranton to the middle. We have been really cracking down on the moves, and Millie is picking us a part and focusing on the little tiny details like whether or not your thumb is sticking out or flush with your palm. Today we had to dance row by row so she could see everyone and how they are doing. Hopefully, we can pull it together in time for the festival next Saturday. Ahhhh! It's only a week away. I hope we're ready. At least I feel more prepared for Sunday's musical...

Well, I'm going to go take a nap before practice because I've gone to bed at midnight or later every night this week (oops!).

Blessings

Today I feel: Blessed (hence the name), and still very tired

Wow. So many opportunities to praise God through drama lately. I'm so excited about our upcoming youth drama that I am co-writing and acting in, but I am also excited about our Easter Musical. We met with the director for the first time last night and she is really cool. She's got some great ideas and I am happy to be working under her.
We also listened through the music which is also incredibly awesome. There are a few contemporary Christian songs to which some words have been rewritten and they are really cool. I hope that we can pull the whole musical together in like a month, but I'm not to worried as I'm sure that God will take care of it.
God's pretty good at taking care of us, seeing as that's his job and all. He has blessed my family on more than one occasion lately. He has sent us some very timely financial blessings that will definitely help us out.
Speaking of our financial situation, my dad applied for this new job and he had another interview with them today. It's now between him and this other guy that they are considering. Please pray for my dad and for my family. He could really use this job. If not this job, then whatever one God has planned for him, but please just be in prayer. Oh, and while you're at it, you can also thank God for blessing us, all of us, the way he does every day.
Now, I must be off to do the dishes. Great fun! Uggghhh....

Stephen, Fancy Cakes, and Pink Carpet Bible Study

Today I feel: Tired, yet cheerful

Yesterday we had bible study, just like we do every Tuesday, at Calyn's house. We call it Pink Carpet Bible Study because Calyn has these awesome fuzzy pink rugs in her room that we sit on. I have really enjoyed bible study because it gives me a chance to read and discuss with other girls and we always have so much fun. Of course the downside to an all-girl bible study is that prayer request time becomes story time, actually any time can become story time, but it's awesome.
Every week we bring snacks, and there has been this joke for a couple of weeks about fancy cakes. Fancy cakes are these Little Debbie snack cakes that Callie really wanted to try. Well, the past two Tuesdays we tried to find them to bring to bible study but we couldn't find them anywhere. Callie finally found some and she brought them to bible study last night. Oooh, and Leah made these really good oatmeal and chocolate chip cookies and Hannah brought Publix chocolate chip cookies (my favorite). Needless to say, we had quite a feast...
Anyways, we have been studying the book of Acts. We normally read one chapter each week and then take prayer requests and talk about things we can work on in our lives. We have corporate prayer and hold each other accountable for those things. Yesterday we read chapter 7, which is about Stephen, so we watched the AT2AP drama of Stephen which is so awesome. It's like 2 hours long so we only got to watch half after we read, but we are going to finish it next week. I had forgotten how much I liked that drama.
Reading through Acts has been pretty cool. It's neat to see the way the church worked and everything. It's also really cool because Calyn and I based our drama on stories in chapters 3, 9, and 12 and I like being able to go back and read them again with new insight.
I think so far, my favorite verse we have read is Acts 5:38b-39:

"For if their purpose or activity is of human origin, it will fail. (39)But if it is from God, you will not be able to stop these men; you will only find yourselves fighting against God."
I really like this verse because it gives me hope. I just think that if whatever I'm doing is from God, no one can stop me. But I must remember that if I am doing something on my own merit, it wil fail. Well, that's about all. Hope everyone is having a good week!

Welcome To My World

Hey everyone and welcome to my very own blog. I will still be posting on the senior blog at www.seniorsroc.blogspot.com, however, I have also decided to start my own blog. For those of you who don't know me, I am Jenna Myrick. Check out my profile for further information.

Now for the good stuff...
Calyn and I went to visit Sarah at Auburn this past weekend. This is part of the reason why I wanted to start my own blog, because that way when I'm no longer a high school senior, I can still have this sort of journal to look back on. Anyways, I have three words to describe the trip there: dark, scary, and long. It was like pitch black and Calyn's brights don't work and they were doing construction on the roads so roads would like randomly end and there would be this blockade that looked like you were about to run right into it. It was really scary. Also, there was only one gas station within 100 miles: not good. We were going to work on writing some dramas while we were driving but that just didn't happen, instead we had a Michael W. Smith marathon and sang our lungs out to all of the good ol' songs (I pwedge awiegence to da fwag of da United States of Amewica). The drive seemed like it took forever, but after four long hours, we were finally there.
That night, Sarah introduced us to some of the girls in the dorm and then we watched Moulin Rouge. By the time we got to bed it was like 3 or 4 in the morning. The next day we didn't wake up until like 10:30 or 11 and there was ice all over the place. It was freezing and wet all day but the ice all over everything was really cool. Sarah showed us where she works and then we went to Momma Goldberg's Deli for lunch. We spent a long time there having tons of fun with the frames on Sarah's camera phone (let's just say that the painting American Gothic will never look the same...). We went shopping for a little while and then met up with some of Sarah's friends at the Auburn vs. Tennessee basketball game. Auburn won by three points and we had so much fun. Andy caught this little basketball that the cheerleaders were throwing into the crowd even though it was headed straight toward me. Then he tried to throw it into the one of the tubas in the band but he missed...twice. He did hit the guy though. After the game we went to Tay-co Bell for dinner and then to Jesse's house to watch The Count of Monte Cristo, which is a really good movie by the way.
At about midnight, Sarah, Calyn, Andy, and I went to Andy's apartment to hang out for a while. On the way we got some very disappointingly-sized McFlurrys, I always thought that there was only one size, and if they charged us two bucks for that one then the larges must be outrageously expensive. Anyways, we ended up playing Stratego and watching Remember the Titans until like 2 and then we went back to the dorm to try to get a decent amount of sleep.
Calyn and I had to leave at 9:30 the next morning so we could be back in time for drama. The ride home was still really long, but much more enjoyable. We wrote a skit and drove straight through to Tally.
Overall, it was a great weekend. I got to see Sarah (I miss you!) and take my first real road trip (without my family or the youth group).
Okay, well, I must be off to bed now. Hopefully I can get enough sleep because I have been really tired lately. Not that staying up until 11:30 working on my blog is helping the cause any...
